- We liase closely with KWANALU (KwaZulu Natal Agricultural Union) on matters that need to be taken up with Government.
- We have regular Joint Farmers Association Meetings to establish what is happening in their areas and how it might affect our farmers.
- We have representation at the meetings of the DAC (District Agricultural Council)
- We stay informed on issues raised at local level by attending the Mpofana Ratepayers Association meetings as well as Mpofana Council Meetings
- By attending the MII (Midlands Investment Initiative), Agri-Processing Task Team and the Tourism Task meetings, we stay abreast of economic developments in our area.
- Sub Committees are appointed to negotiate with local government on Property Rates, Tourism and issues that affect all members of Mpofana Council 22.
- We will keep you informed on matters relating to BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) in agricultural.
- We stay a step ahead regarding security matters by attending GOCOC (Ground Operational Co-ordinating Committee), AOCOC (Area Operational Co-ordinating Committee), Local Police Forum and Stock Theft meetings.
- We liase with the Dept. of Land Affairs and Labour Lawyers regarding Labour Tenant Claims and attend regular meetings regarding all issues of Land Claims.
- Secretarial work for The Mooi River Fire Protection Association, Mooi River Irrigation Boards and Radio Network (although not covered under your membership fee) is done at the same office for your convenience to obtain fire regulations, radio contact lists and irrigation schedules.
- As a member you qualify to hire our hall or crockery and cutlery for private functions.
- Quarterly Sponsored Pub Evenings provide our farmers with both information from various sectors of agriculture and business, as well as a relaxed evening in the company of fellow farmers. We also host an annual dinner with a motivational speaker.
We hold monthly Stock Sales as a service to the farmers. - Our Beef Bureau provides a service to stock farmers to establish the current selling price. (Separate membership)
- Our Advisory Board covers all aspects of the farming industry and our Executive Committee will act on your behalf.
